The Tecsun PL-330 is the first receiver to offer ETM+, a search function that populates 24 specific time memories based on the time of day the signal was received. For example, stations stored between 0900 and 0950 will be saved in memory E09. Using this system it is possible to create an individual ETM memory for each hour of the day. Pressing the ETM button once the initial frequencies have been stored automatically selects the previously stored frequencies at that time of day. The Tecsun Pl-330 also features AM synchronous detection of the shortwave bands, a feature rarely found on such a small receiver. This receiver offers up to 9 user-selectable bandwidth settings (depending on the receive mode selected), allowing the user to customize performance based on band conditions. For shortwave listeners, a simple press of the arrow button will cycle the receiver through all assigned shortwave bands. Likewise, in SSB mode, pressing the arrow button toggles through all assigned ham radio bands. Tecsun has listened to the requests of shortwave listeners and implemented the Backlight On/Off function where the LCD backlight can be selected to be always on or always off.
