Multifunction dual band digital transceiver Worldwide communication via the D-STAR network

The ID-52E is a VHF/UHF dual band radio with D-STAR and FM dual mode functions.

The ID-52E supports conventional FM communications and D-STAR simplex calls, repeater, regional and international via the D-STAR Internet gateway. With the ID-52E, you can call a friend in another city, or even internationally via D-STAR repeaters, with clear digital audio. Additionally, the ID-52E can send voice digital with data, text messages, GPS location information and images.

Image sharing functions

Share images with other users and see the received images on the display coloured. Photos taken on an Android™ device can be transferred wirelessly to the ID-52E via Bluetooth®.

DR function (D-STAR Repeater)

The extended DR (D-STAR Repeater) function makes D-STAR and repeater communication FM easier to use. Combined with GPS function, you can select a local repeater available at the push of a couple of buttons, depending on your location. Additionally, DR mode supports reflector link controls.

Terminal mode and access point mode *

Connect the ID-52E to the Internet via a Windows® PC or Android™ device. The Internet gateway (using Terminal mode and Access Point mode) allows you to access the D-STAR repeater network, even from areas where no D-STAR repeater is directly accessible via radio.

Terminal and access point modes are compatible with gateway software Icom RS-RP3. If your D-STAR repeater is running G1 or G2 software, contact your distributor Local Icom to update the software. · Internet connection is required with a global IPv4 IP address. If you use a cellular system, you need it a global IPv4 IP address assigned to your Android™ device. · The software optional RS-MS3W must be installed in the PC (download from the Icom website). The Optional RS-MS3A application software must be installed in your Android device ™ (Download from Google Play™). USB cable is required. Type A: Provided by the user. Advanced functions and color display

Large 2.3" color display Black background The ID-52E features a color display 2.3 inch (320 × 280 pixels) which provides excellent visibility. Color display background is selectable between black and white.

Bluetooth® enabled features

VS-3 Bluetooth® Headset The optional VS-3 Bluetooth® Headset enables operation hands-free wireless. In addition to the PTT and volume up/down buttons, the VS-3 has three Programmable buttons that can be assigned functions to enhance the operation.

You can connect to an Android™ device via Bluetooth®. With the Android™ device together with the RS-MS1A remote control software installed, you can wirelessly control the ID-52E to change frequencies operational and other settings.

V/V, U/U, V/U including DV mode /DV

Dualwatch function controls VHF/VHF, UHF/UHF and bands simultaneously VHF / UHF *. You can quickly answer a call from the main bands and secondary.

You can decode two DV signals at the same time.

AM/AM Dualwatch mode is not possible. AM signals can be received only on the main VFO (A band).

VHF/UHF air band and broadcast receiver FM

Broadcast Receiver Airband reception is broadened by the band VHF military airband to the UHF airband (225 to 374.995 MHz). Radio stations FM can be listened to while using the dualwatch function.

Built-in GPS/GLONASS receiver

GPS location with grid locator D-PRS mode is supported by the Internal GPS receiver to send your location and show your location of the received station, the distance and direction from the current position. Beyond to your location, the ID-52E displays your current information on the square of grill. GPS location data can be used for functions automatic location reply, nearby repeater search and GPS log.

microSD card slot

You can store QSO records, TX voice memory, images, QSOs and data GPS log. Firmware updates, repeater lists and other settings personal data on a microSD card (up to 32 GB). This can then be loaded in the ID-52E radio.

And it has a multi-functional USB port and USB host function, for charging Icom battery packs, PC programming, reading/writing content on the microSD card, support terminal/access point mode and CI-V control and audio.
