HEXBEAM 6 Bands by SP6CYN

HEX6BEAM is an antenna for the six bands 20, 17, 15, 12, 10 and 6 m. The design follows the ideas of G3TXQ, who was the first to present this antenna. However, the mechanical construction has been perfected by SP6CYN by selecting the best, most resistant materials such as stainless steel. The result is an efficient portable antenna for the classic DX bands, which can also be used due to its low weight for DX expeditions and holidays.

HEX6BEAM works as a two element directive on each band. The ready-to-use cables and ropes are attached to the fiberglass rods, no adjustment necessary! Due to the mechanical tension of the struts, the beam is stretched to the fixed size all the time, there is no sag on the wires. The radiator dipoles are connected to the vertical central support, each has its own screw terminals. The central support is designed as a coaxial transformer and balun. This transformer is responsible for excellent matching on each band and the fact that only one power line is needed for all bands. The gain is approximately 3 dBD or higher, the front to back ratio is between 13 and 22 dB. The matching transformer achieves an SWR of 1.2:1 or better on all bands. Each band can be used in full bandwidth without a tuner. The maximum power allowed is 1.5 kW. The fiberglass tubes are double coated against UV radiation. Setting up the HEX6BEAM bands is simple and can be done by one person in approx. 30 minutes. For installation the 6 uprights are assembled and fixed to the central pole. Pre-cut strings from the top of the center pole to each post are installed for the typical curved shape of the hexagonal beam. Then the pre-cut cables are attached to the posts and electrically connected to the central pole. All strings and cables are already cut to size, no adjustment is required. Due to the low weight of only 12 kg, the hexagon can be installed on a lightweight aluminum push-up post. Rotation can be done with a small 12V rotor or manually. the HEX6BEAM can be installed on poles with a diameter of 28 to 52 mm.
